Ventnor Summer Festival & Ventnor Day

A weekend of festivities is only a couple of weeks away – 27th and 28th June sees the return of Ventnor Day on Saturday and Ventnor Summer Festival on Sunday.

Festivities will be concentrated around the town and the Esplanade on Saturday, and in Ventnor Park on Sunday afternoon. Businesses in Ventnor are gearing up for a fun-filled Saturday in various spots around the town, the beach and paddling pool.

Ventnor Summer Festival , hosted by Ventnor Town Council on Sunday from 12-4pm is the time to celebrate Ventnor and our wonderful island with organisations, community groups, and charities providing fundraising and information stalls. There will also be craft stalls, music, entertainment, and tasty treats. Jackie and her team at Tee in the Park will be providing delicious refreshments alongside other caterers including Lady Scarlett’s, Wight Smoke and Wight Ices. We are planning stalls and activities for children including face-painting, glitter tattoos and fun games. There will be a chance to learn the life-saving skill of resuscitation with the Ambulance Service, and find out about the work of the coastguard who are bringing their vehicles (unless they get called out for an emergency!).

We are very lucky to have the German Kommando Raid Exhibition ‘Nothing to see here…’ joining the event. Find out about the raid on St Lawrence Radar Station during World War 2 presented by Ventnor historian, Paul Thompson after extensive and ongoing research.

There should be plenty of fun for local residents, islanders and holidaymakers alike.
