In November 2023 after an application and interview process , I was co- opted into the position as town councillor for Ventnor west ward , I am very much looking forward to working with the community and councillors for the community.
I was born and bred in Ventnor and have raised two children here I am as ever proud to call Ventnor my home. I have seen Ventnor at it’s worse and at it’s best and do wish to see this beautiful conservation area decline into to the ghost town it was 20 years ago.
Environmental issues are close to my heart and it is imperative that we work as individuals and the wider community to reduce our carbon footprint, I would like to see Ventnor leading the way for the Island in sustainability and biodiversity.
I have worked as a health care professional for the past 17 years and feel that I have many transferable skills that I can bring to this role, this includes honesty and transparency. I have seen first hand the negative impact poverty, substance misuse and poor mental health have on individuals , families and the wider community and would like to contribute to tackling these issues.
