Vandal’s damage decorative planter in Spring Hill Gardens

Vandals have destroyed a beautiful old fountain which was re-purposed as a centre piece stone planter at the popular Springhill Gardens in Ventnor.

The damage was carried out late on Monday night, unfortunately this has now deemed the planter a write off, and as such it will have to be removed. This is yet again a mindless act of vandalism which only takes away from the local residents and tourists in the town. Ventnor Town Council’s Spring Hill Gardens is a popular place for people to sit and enjoy the lovely surroundings. Along with the regular busking events during the summer which take place it has become very well used for meeting people and taking a rest after walking through the town.

Police have been notified and are investigating the damage.

Please be aware that there may be some disruption around Springfield Gardens presently whilst the damaged planter is removed and also some building works to make safe.
