News shared by Southern Water:

Southern Water implemented a Temporary Use Ban (TUB), also known as a hosepipe ban on Monday 21 July. This ban is in place for customers in Hampshire and across the Isle of Wight until further notice.
This is due to us having the driest spring in over 100 years. River and water sources are under real pressure as the demand for water increases. This ban will help protect the River Test and Itchen, ensuring there’s enough water to go around.
This means you’ll need to press pause on using the hose for things like:
- Watering your garden
- Washing your car
- Filling up paddling pools
There are exceptions to the ban including some medical or mobility needs. For further information and to see how you are affected please visit Southern Water’s FAQs page Temporary Use Bans (TUBs) – Southern Water
Please note that these restrictions will stay in place until water levels recover. This may continue into the cooler months. However, Southern Water will lift these restrictions as soon as it is possible.
Please keep an eye on Southern Water Facebook page for more information. We will also share updates on our pages too.
The Isle of Wight Council would also like to thank everyone for doing their bit to save water.
