Cllr Karl Hunter

Additional Information
I have lived on the Island nearly all my life and attended Island Schools and IW College.
I served as a Police Officer for nearly 20 years, specialising in Marine Policing and Firearms. Prior to this I worked for the Prison Service. I have two children including a son at St Catherine’s where I am a School Governor.
You’ll regularly see me out and about around Ventnor with “Loui”, my big loveable Giant Schnauzer, so please do come over and say hello to us both!
After taking action to clean up and on-going action to re-open Bath Road, I was put forward to be a member of Ventnor Town Council. Later in 2025 the Island’s 15 year-transport plan will be the subject to public consultation and it is vital that the town plays its part in putting forward transport solutions that benefit Ventnor.
I’ve also been prominent in campaigning for improvements to ferry services over the last few years. Tourism plays a vital part in Ventnor’s life, so it’s very important that collectively we do all we can to ensure that people can actually reach here and reach here without paying exorbitant prices for the privilege.
