Beaches

Ventnor’s beaches enjoy more sunshine and better temperatures than almost anywhere else in the country. Sandy stretches to shallow waters and sheltered by high cliffs on which the terraced town has grown, the beaches are maintained to the highest standards for the enjoyment of residents and visitors alike.

To the west is Steephill Cove, one of the few English Coves with no vehicular access. A natural cove fringed by a row of cottages served by a quality cafe, it provides safe bathing from a gently sloping beach in a place where time seems to have stood still.
